Draught Proofing
Windows can easily become draughty, and sash windows are no exception.
This is often seen as an insurmountable problem and a reason for
replacing either the sashes or even the whole window, with the
loss of many fine original features. This is not necessary. Sash
windows can be draught proofed very effectively, with the added
benefit of reducing fuel bills, improving sound-proofing and making
the windows easier to operate. It is even possible to carry out
a reasonable do-it-yourself job, but fitting is much better carried

We utilise draft proofing products from the leading
UK manufacturers including Mighton, atlas and xxxxx in which draught-sealed
staff and parting beads are fitted and seals are installed on
the meeting rail, between thbe top and bottom sashes, making an
invisible and extremely effective draught seal.
At the same time we will overhaul and repair the
windows, including;
- Strip and sand windows
- Treat or replace decaying timber
- Replace broken pulleys if required
- Relieve jammed sashes
- Replace broken window panes
- Install new window furniture if required in
either brass, chrome or brushed chrome
- Fix or repair window mouldings
- Install new weather strip beading and draft
